In the previous outbreak in 2022, Uganda received approximately $34 million in foreign aid to enhance infection surveillance and prevention techniques. However, recent cuts to U.S. foreign aid have significantly strained the nation’s health budget, raising concerns among medical professionals about the government’s capacity to effectively manage this emerging epidemic.
