Wet Leg Announces New Album ‘moisturizer’
Release Date and Lead Single
The U.K. indie rock band Wet Leg has unveiled plans for their upcoming album, titled moisturizer, which is scheduled for release on July 11 through Domino Records. In conjunction with this announcement, they have also released the lead single, “catch these fists.” Accompanying the single is a self-directed music video filmed on the picturesque Isle of Wight, showcasing the band in a countryside setting, dancing to a boombox and subtly referencing their previous video for “Chaise Lounge.”
Background on the New Album
This new project follows Wet Leg’s critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, which was released in 2022. The debut album not only topped the charts in the U.K. but also earned the band a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, establishing them as a significant presence in the indie rock scene.
Creators Behind ‘moisturizer’
moisturizer was collaboratively crafted by band members Rhian Teasdale, Hester Chambers, as well as Henry Holmes, Josh Mobaraki, and Ellis Durand in March 2024. The production is helmed by Dan Carey, who has previously worked with well-known acts such as Black Midi and Fontaines D.C.
Unique Album Ingredients
Promotional materials outlining the album’s concept reference a list of its “active ingredients,” which is a whimsical take on the contents of the album. These include elements such as “ketamine, true love, every Alien film, devotion, rapid success, guitars, and lesbian sex.” One notable mention is British TV personality Davina McCall, who inspired the title of one of the tracks on the album.
Looking Ahead
As anticipation builds for moisturizer, fans can look forward to a blend of the band’s characteristic sound and innovative new themes. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
