ivvys first encountered the world of music production at the tender age of eight when he observed his father create beats reminiscent of Chief Keef using FL Studio. The sights and sounds captivated him, providing an early glimpse into the world of beat-making.
A Pivotal Moment
One afternoon, while his father was napping, ivvys seized the moment to express his desire to learn how to make music. His father responded, “Alright, bro, but if I teach you, you gotta stay up, you can’t go to sleep, you can’t be too bored.” This marked the beginning of ivvys’ musical education, though he admits, “I ain’t gon lie I fell asleep a couple times.”
From Learning to Collaboration
As ivvys grew older, he began working alongside his father, but initially, he didn’t have hands-on experience with FL Studio. Instead, he utilized free in-browser digital audio workstations like SoundTrap to explore his musical instincts. There, he started laying down drum patterns over his father’s loops, which would later lead him to discover underground music through platforms like SoundCloud.
Developing a Unique Sound
In the years following his initial explorations, ivvys began to refine his sound. He transitioned to creating ambient beats, experimenting with various plugins, including Timeless 3, and immersing himself in the work of underground artists such as ian, kujo, Izaya Tiji, and Xang. He recalled, “Before everything took off I was really demotivated.
