Tied By The Sea, co-founded by artists Grace Henke and Lieven Leroy, creates rope-based imagery through the lens of fine art photography. Polished and thought provoking, the project has grown into a collaborative exploration of artistic form and the intimate power of presence.

An evolving photo series, Tied By The Sea uses rope as a visual motif to explore themes of stillness, vulnerability, and presence. The photographs emphasize human connection, encouraging viewers to engage with each image as a meditative experience.

“We want to offer a moment of pause – a chance to really feel something,” says Grace. “Each image is an invitation to be fully present. With rope as a medium, we seek to express something that lingers and is deeply felt.”

Through their creative partnership, Grace and Lieven cultivate a practice that challenges conventional interpretations of rope art. The project has been featured in curated gallery spaces across California and Arizona, where its emotionally centered style continues to attract interest from art enthusiasts and collectors.
