During her recent appearance on ITV1’s This Morning, Gillian Anderson, famed for her role as Agent Dana Scully in The X-Files, shared insights about her discussion with director Ryan Coogler regarding the upcoming reboot of the iconic series. Anderson remarked, “If anyone were to do it, I think you are the perfect person and best of luck, call me.”

Coogler’s Excitement for the Project

Coogler, who has garnered acclaim for his work on films like Black Panther, echoed Anderson’s enthusiasm during his recent interview on Last Podcast on the Left. He expressed commitment to producing a reboot that would appeal to both long-time fans and new audiences

“I’ve been excited about that for a long time, and I’m fired up to get back to it.”

“Some of those episodes, if we do our jobs right, will be really f—ing scary,” he added.

Anderson’s Mixed Possibilities

Reflecting on the reboot’s potential, Anderson has previously stated her admiration for Coogler, describing him as “a bit of a genius.” However, she pointed out that her own involvement is still uncertain. She mentioned, “Whether I am involved in it is a whole other thing. I’m not saying no. I think he’s really cool and I think if he did it, it would probably be done incredibly well. And maybe I’ll pop in for a little something something.”
