Ava Max Announces Release of New Album ‘Don’t Click Play’
Pop sensation Ava Max is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated album, Don’t Click Play, scheduled to hit the shelves on August 22. This marks her third full-length project, following her previous successes.
Lead Single and Visual Imagery
The album’s lead single, “Lost Your Faith”, is set to captivate audiences ahead of the album’s launch. The cover art for Don’t Click Play features Max amidst a fiery triangle, with flames engulfing her hands, symbolizing the exhilarating experience she hopes fans will encounter when they engage with her new music. The triangle is artistically designed to mimic a play button.
Innovative Promotion Strategy
Max is employing a creative marketing strategy for this album cycle. Last month, she directed fans to a website titled DontClickPlayOnAvaMax.com, which masqueraded as an online petition but actually provided a teaser for an unreleased track. Additionally, she showcased a billboard with the provocative message, “Don’t Click Play on Ava Max”, enhancing the intrigue surrounding her new release.
Industry Connections and Inspirations
In a nod to the promotional style of fellow Atlantic Records artist Ed Sheeran, Max mirrored his album announcement on social media by quoting from his post made the same day. Both announcements incorporated the recognizable play button icon, linking their musical journeys.
Previous Works and Chart Performance
Don’t Click Play follows her 2023 album Diamonds & Dancefloors, which reached No. 34 on the Billboard 200, and her debut album from 2020, Heaven & Hell, which peaked at No. 27. The latter featured her breakout hit, “Sweet But Psycho,” a chart-topping single that resonated strongly with audiences in 2018.
