This track was both written and produced by PinkPantheress in collaboration with aksel arvid and Count Baldor. The accompanying music video features a period-drama aesthetic, showcasing the artist dressed in regency-inspired attire while celebrating with a troupe of dancers in a grand estate.

In a recent interview with Mixmag, PinkPantheress shared her approach for her upcoming project, stating, “This [new] one is about letting [expectations] go.” She emphasized her desire to relax her concerns about external feedback, highlighting a balance between her pop sensibilities and her experimental inclinations. “If you like it you like it, and if you don’t you don’t,” she asserted.

The release of ‘Tonight’ follows a challenging period for PinkPantheress, who canceled all remaining tour dates for 2024 last August. This included supporting roles for artists like Olivia Rodrigo and Coldplay, as well as the final leg of her own Capable of Love headline tour. The artist explained that prioritizing her physical health and well-being was the primary motivation behind her decision to withdraw from the tour.
