EP Details
The release consists of studio recordings, a live performance, and a reimagined version of a fan favorite. An exclusive vinyl edition is available solely to members of the Ten Club.
Tracklist Overview
- Original studio version of “Future Days” from Lightning Bolt (2013)
- “All or None” from Riot Act (2002)
- A new live version of “Future Days,” recorded at the 2024 Ohana Festival
- “Present Tense (Redux),” a reworked version of a classic from No Code
Significance of “Future Days”
The song “Future Days” holds a profound place within The Last of Us narrative. In The Last of Us Part II, the character Joel shares this song with Ellie during a pivotal emotional moment. It recurs throughout the storyline, symbolizing themes of connection and loss.
This connection was first showcased in 2020, when Eddie Vedder performed “Future Days” live at The Game Awards, paying tribute to the game’s influence.
In the second season of HBO’s adaptation, the song features once again in episode five, where Ellie plays a guitar in a Seattle theater and echoes the opening line of “Future Days.” This moment recalls a similar flashback from the game.
Availability and Tour
The new EP can be streamed on all major platforms, while the limited edition vinyl is exclusive to registered Ten Club members. This release coincides with Pearl Jam’s ongoing 2025 global tour, which supports their twelfth studio album, Dark Matter, that recently debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 chart.
The band is currently performing across North America and Europe, with highlights including a special rendition of “Black” alongside Pete Frampton in Nashville.
