Jonathan Majors Open to Returning to Marvel Cinematic Universe
Current Endeavors and Marvel’s Future
Jonathan Majors has recently been in the spotlight for his role in the film Magazine Dreams and has expressed his willingness to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Kang the Conqueror. During a promotional interview with USA Today, Majors stated that if Marvel reached out to him for a reprisal, he would be eager to accept the opportunity.
Majors’ Enthusiasm for Marvel
“Yeah, of course I say yes. Disney, Marvel Studios, I love them,” Majors remarked, reflecting on his experiences with co-stars such as Tom Hiddleston, Paul Rudd, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. He emphasized his deep appreciation for the film industry and the connections he has formed within it.
Past Challenges with Marvel
Despite his enthusiasm, Majors’ relationship with Marvel has faced turbulence. Following a conviction for two misdemeanor counts of reckless assault and harassment, the studio opted to distance itself from him and the character of Kang. As a result, Marvel altered the titles of upcoming Avengers films, shifting the focus from Kang to Doctor Doom, a role now set to be portrayed by Robert Downey Jr.
Future Roles and Aspirations
In a discussion with Entertainment Weekly, Majors was asked about the possibility of reprising not only his role in Marvel but also his character Damien “Diamond Dame” Anderson from Creed III. He affirmed, “Yes. Yes, to both,” but highlighted that any return would come with personal growth, suggesting that his perspective would change, though he would maintain his core acting skills.
Support from Co-stars
Supporting his aspirations, Michael B. Jordan, Majors’ co-star in Creed III, expressed a desire to work with him again, indicating a strong bond between the actors.
