On December 14, 2025, the Memorial Bells of First United Methodist Church presented their 16th annual “Ring Noel” holiday concert, bringing festive cheer and a sense of tradition to the local community. Held in the warm, welcoming Sanctuary on McClelland Avenue, the concert was an extraordinary celebration of the holiday season, showcasing a rich and diverse mix of both sacred and secular Christmas and Advent music. The performance, which included three octaves of Schulmerich handbells and Suzuki handchimes, was a feast for the ears, with the unique and intricate sounds of the bells ringing throughout the sanctuary.

The concert was enhanced by several guest instrumentalists, including a flautist, violinist, and percussionist, whose contributions added new layers of texture and emotion to the musical arrangements. These talented musicians brought fresh vitality to the timeless holiday favorites, and their performances highlighted the festive spirit that filled the room. From the gentle, melodic tones of the flutes to the rich string sounds of the violin and the rhythmic heartbeat of the percussion, each instrument played an important role in making the concert truly memorable.

A particularly lively and touching highlight of the evening was the Ring-Sing-A-Long. This interactive portion of the concert invited the audience to participate, singing along to beloved Christmas carols and hymns. It was a joyful moment of communal celebration, where families, friends, and music lovers united in song, creating a sense of togetherness and shared holiday spirit. The Ring-Sing-A-Long was not just a celebration of music but also a poignant tribute to the late Craig Lawrence, a longtime emcee of the annual event. Craig’s dedication and love for the concert had made him a beloved figure in the community, and his memory was honored with heartfelt tributes during the evening. The crowd’s participation in the sing-along served as a fitting tribute to Craig’s legacy, reminding everyone of the deep connections formed through music and tradition.
