Halle Bailey Secures Restraining Order Against DDG
Legal Action Following Allegations of Domestic Violence
Halle Bailey has reportedly succeeded in her request for a restraining order against her former partner, Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., better known as DDG. This development has been covered by multiple outlets, including Billboard and TMZ, highlighting the serious nature of the allegations involved.
Background of the Case
The couple, who share a 1-year-old son named Halo, parted ways in 2024. Bailey, an acclaimed artist known for her musical prowess, filed a police report earlier this month, outlining a series of incidents she claims involved physical violence.
Specific Allegations
Court documents reveal that Bailey alleges Granberry became aggressive on multiple occasions. Notably, she detailed an incident from January 2023, alleging that he pulled her hair and slammed her face against a steering wheel, resulting in a chipped tooth. This incident reportedly occurred while she was preparing to place their son in the vehicle.
Further Incidents of Violence
Additional allegations include two more instances of violence; one in March and another reported just this past weekend. The latter incident allegedly stemmed from Granberry’s mistaken belief that Bailey was on vacation with musician Brent Faiyaz, when, in fact, she was traveling with her mother and their child.
Cease-and-Desist Order Request
Alongside her request for a restraining order, Bailey has also sought a cease-and-desist order to prevent Granberry from discussing her and their child on social media platforms. She claims his online behavior has incited harassment from his fans, leaving her feeling endangered.
Future Legal Proceedings
A hearing scheduled for June 4 will determine whether a more permanent restraining order will be necessary to ensure Bailey and her child’s safety.
