Greta Gerwig has been announced as the director for Disney’s live-action sequel to The Little Mermaid, titled The Little Mermaid: Beyond the Shore. Halle Bailey, who portrayed Ariel in the 2023 adaptation, will reprise her role. Alongside her, Jonah Hauer-King will return as Prince Eric, and Melissa McCarthy will play Morgana, Ursula’s vengeful sister. Other familiar faces include Daveed Diggs as Sebastian and Awkwafina as Scuttle.
