Global Constellation Unveils WWII Drama ‘Crux’ at Cannes
Global Constellation, a newly formed international sales entity born from the merger of Film Constellation and Global Screen, has announced its first feature film acquisition as the Cannes Film Festival’s Marché du Film kicks off.
A Strategic Acquisition
In a significant step to enhance its European market presence, Vuelta Group, the parent company of Global Constellation, has secured both German distribution and international sales rights for the upcoming World War II drama, Crux, directed by Ulrike Tony Vahl. This acquisition exemplifies the coordinated efforts between Vuelta Germany and Global Constellation, both of which operate under the Playtime banner.
Film Overview
Currently in production, Crux is aimed for delivery in Q2 or Q3 of 2026, making its market debut to buyers at the Cannes festival this week. An exclusive still from the film has also been released, showcasing a narrative that profoundly explores the theme of morality amidst the chaos of war.
Plot Synopsis
Set in a German village at the twilight of World War II, the film follows characters Greta, Anni, and their fellow villagers as they struggle to maintain normalcy amid turmoil. The discovery of unidentified corpses along the river disrupts their precarious existence, escalating into widespread panic and a harrowing decree: “No living Germans shall remain for the Russians to find.” The film poses critical questions about survival and humanity in times of despair.
