The announcement was made during the Cannes Film Festival, where Nolan described the film as his “most ambitious yet.”
The cast features well-known actors Florence Pugh, Cillian Murphy, and John David Washington, marking a reunion with some of Nolan’s frequent collaborators. The narrative is set in a near-future world and will delve into humanity’s dependence on AI, exploring the potential repercussions of advancing technology beyond its ethical boundaries.
Filming for “The Singularity” is scheduled to begin later this year, and the film is expected to be released in the summer of 2026.
