After high school, Big Jon temporarily put his music career on hold to focus on his education. He attended Towson University, where he majored in media production and graduated in 2019 with a 3.5 GPA. His initial career path took him into broadcasting, but after five years of feeling unfulfilled and seeking a more meaningful path, Big Jon returned to his roots in music. In the summer of 2024, he rekindled his passion for songwriting and began working on his debut EP, HERE I COME, which features six tracks written entirely by him.

For Big Jon, making music isn’t just about entertainment; it’s about connecting with listeners on a deeper level and making a meaningful impact on the music industry. While many hip hop artists focus on fame and fortune, Big Jon is driven by the artistry of the genre and the power of words. One of the most personal motivations behind Big Jon’s music is honoring his late mother, who passed away in 2021. Her memory continues to inspire him as he creates music with a sense of purpose and passion. “I’m doing this for my mom,” he says. “I want her to be proud of me. I want my music to make an impact, not just for me, but for everyone who listens.”
