The series has gained significant recognition, earning eight nominations at the upcoming Canadian Screen Awards, which include nods for both Ali’s writing and for Best Dramatic Series.

Allegiance is a character-centric police procedural set in Surrey, British Columbia. The show delves into complex themes such as identity, belonging, and the intersections of policing and politics. Ali’s Background and Future Plans
Ali’s experience extends beyond television; she is also an accomplished author and has previously contributed to notable projects like CTV’s Transplant. Her representation at Atlas includes industry professionals Alex Hertzberg, Ethan Harari, and Adam Burger. BBC Studios Appoints Mirja Minjares as Entertainment Head
In related news, BBC Studios has appointed Mirja Minjares as the entertainment head for its operations in the Nordics. Previously, Minjares served as a commissioning editor for the Norwegian broadcaster NRK, where she contributed to successful projects, including Ultimate Entertainer (Stjernekamp) and the festive 24-Star Christmas Calendar (24 Stjerners Julekalender).
Her New Role
Beginning June 1, Minjares will be responsible for leading the creative production team in Norway, focusing on the development of BBC Studios’ content strategy within the region. She will report directly to Benedikte Minos, Managing Director of BBC Studios Norway, and Jan Salling, Head of BBC Studios Nordic Productions.
