Quentin Tarantino has announced his tenth and final film, titled “The Critic.” This project is set in the 1970s and aims to delve into the dynamic world of film criticism during what Tarantino describes as “Hollywood’s most transformative decade.”
The film features Margot Robbie in the role of a young, ambitious film critic navigating the male-dominated industry and Joaquin Phoenix as a legendary yet controversial filmmaker who becomes both her subject and rival. During a press conference in Los Angeles, Tarantino expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating that it is “a love letter to cinema and the people who shape how we experience it, for better or worse.”
Known for his attention to detail, Tarantino intends to authentically recreate the 1970s film landscape, weaving in real events and figures into the storyline. The film has generated significant buzz in the film industry, with analysts predicting it could be a masterpiece. Entertainment Weekly has noted that if this is indeed Tarantino’s last film, it promises to be a fitting tribute to his illustrious career.
Filming is set to commence this summer, with the film expected to be released in late 2025.
