James Woods has reported that his home has survived the recent wildfires in Southern California, despite earlier fears of its destruction. After evacuating earlier in the week due to the approaching Palisades fire, Woods expressed immense relief upon discovering that his home remained intact amidst the devastation surrounding him.
In a message shared on social media, Woods described his situation as a “miracle,” noting that while their home is still standing, the landscape around them resembles a “hellish” scene, heavily affected by smoke and damage. He shared a video showcasing the charred remains of his neighborhood, which was shrouded in smoke.
Woods previously shared his anxieties about the potential loss of his home during an emotional interview on CNN. At that time, he expressed how difficult the situation was for him as he witnessed the fire approaching his property.
The wildfires have had widespread effects across Southern California, with reports indicating that several celebrities, including Paris Hilton and Billy Crystal, have lost their homes due to the fires. The fires have affected multiple areas, including Pacific Palisades and Malibu, following severe storms.
As of Saturday, the wildfires had resulted in at least 11 fatalities, caused the evacuation of around 105,000 residents, and led to the destruction of over 5,300 structures, including hundreds of homes. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has reported several individuals missing as a result of the fires.
To address the crisis, President Joe Biden extended his visit to Los Angeles to meet with first responders and those affected. He declared the situation a major disaster, expressing solidarity with the residents of Southern California during this challenging time.
