Jamie Foxx 'recovered' With Stitches After Assault

A year after recovering from a stroke, Jamie Foxx’s 57th birthday celebrations were canceled on Friday due to stitch surgery.

A spokesperson said the Oscar winner was celebrating his birthday at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills when someone at another table threw a glass at him during an argument.

“Jamie Foxx was at a birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass at him, hitting him in the mouth,” a representative said, according to CNN. “He had to have stitches and is recovering. Police were called and the matter is now in the hands of law enforcement.”

The Beverly Hills Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred Friday after 10 p.m. when someone reported a possible assault with a deadly weapon. “No arrests were made as officers determined the reported assault with a deadly weapon was unfounded. Instead, the incident involved a physical altercation between the parties.”

The altercation began after Fox’s Netflix special “What Happened…” aired this week, detailing his brain hemorrhage and subsequent stroke last April. Last December, she made her first public appearance since her stroke and won the Critics Choice Association’s Vanguard Award.

Foxx suffered a health scare while filming the action comedy “Back in Action with Cameron Diaz,” which is scheduled to stream on Netflix on January 17th.
