Miami, FL – April 2025 – Miami’s vibrant art scene recently showcased emerging artist Anai Fonte in the group exhibition “Ctrl + Del” at Laundromat Art Space, held from March 19th to 23rd. This event was a celebration of diverse artistic narratives and served as the Thesis Show for Florida International University, highlighting the academic and creative achievements of its emerging artists.

Drawing inspiration directly from her surroundings and experiences, Fonte creates pieces that reflect the tangible beauty of Miami. While she is of Dominican and Cuban heritage, her work primarily celebrates the direct impressions of being born and raised in Miami—a city that continues to influence her artistic vision.

About Anai Fonte
Born in Miami Beach, FL, Anai Fonte is a Miami-based artist whose work is deeply influenced by the city of her birth. Currently pursuing a BFA in Studio Art at Florida International University—and set to graduate this Spring—Fonte works primarily in ceramics and fabrics while embracing a multidisciplinary approach. Her art is a living reflection of her experiences by the water and the luminous culture of Miami.
Fonte’s artistic journey has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Frances Wolfson Art Scholarship (2022), Excellence in Art from MDC North (2022), and the FIU Art + Art History Institutional Scholarship Award. In addition to her creative practice, Anai Fonte is a devoted mother, entrepreneur, and business owner—a blend of personal history and professional drive that continually enriches her work.
