Carrie Underwood is set to perform at the inauguration ceremony of President Donald Trump at the U.S. Capitol on January 20. This performance will feature her rendition of “America the Beautiful,” accompanied by the Armed Forces Choir and the U.S. Naval Academy Glee Club.
Reports regarding Underwood’s participation first surfaced through a post by political reporter Matthew Foldy, who shared an apparent inauguration program listing her performance, which is scheduled shortly before Trump is inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States.
Notably, Underwood’s appearance follows a tradition of notable musical performances at presidential inaugurations. In 2017, Trump’s first inauguration included performances by Jackie Evancho and the Radio City Rockettes, while the 2021 inauguration for President Joe Biden featured Jennifer Lopez and Garth Brooks, among others.
In addition to her upcoming performance, Carrie Underwood recently released a trailer for her concert special titled “Carrie Underwood: Reflections,” which highlights her time performing in Las Vegas. This special will be available on Disney+ and Hulu starting January 24. Underwood is expected to wrap up her Las Vegas residency on April 12, 2023, and has released her latest country album, “Denim & Rhinestones,” in 2022.
