Collin Curtis Launches Caravanserai Pictures in Partnership with Buffalo 8
Producer-writer-director Collin Curtis has officially unveiled his new production company, Caravanserai Pictures, headquartered in Beverly Hills. This initiative marks a significant step in his career as he collaborates with Buffalo 8, a production and distribution firm owned by BondIt Media Capital.
Collaboration Overview
Under their partnership, Caravanserai Pictures and Buffalo 8 will develop a focused slate of seven feature films. The projects will be nurtured under Curtis’s vision, utilizing both in-house screenwriting and intellectual property.
“We are more than excited about our launch and partnership with Buffalo 8,” said Curtis. “We are inspired by their commitment to emerging talent, which aligns well with our culture.”
Buffalo 8’s Role
Adam Harris Engelhard, Head of Production at Buffalo 8, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Supporting independent filmmaking at this level is what Buffalo 8 is all about, and Caravanserai Pictures is exactly the kind of partner we want to be in business with.”
Company Foundation and Vision
Curtis began establishing Caravanserai Pictures late last year, with a mission to assemble a diverse team of industry professionals. The company’s name is derived from historical caravanserai, which were inns that facilitated the exchange of stories and experiences among travelers.
The inaugural hire for the company is Wesley Hauptman, who will serve as Director of Development. Curtis envisions Caravanserai Pictures as a platform that not only fosters emerging talent but also generates original content.
Upcoming Showcase at Cannes
The newly formed company plans to launch its slate during the Cannes Film Festival’s Marché du Film, where Curtis will engage with international co-producers, financiers, distributors, and sales agents.
The project slate remains confidential, yet it is expected to include a variety of genres such as drama, romantic comedy, animated musical, action/adventure, elevated thrillers, and narratives focused on social themes.
Strategic Focus
The upcoming projects will target both theatrical and streaming release, emphasizing strong visual storytelling and international appeal.
