The holiday season just got brighter with the surprise release of “A Carpool Karaoke Christmas,” now streaming on Apple TV+.
The festive take on the Emmy Award-winning Carpool Karaoke: The Series, starring Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa and Chapel Lawn, begins airing on December 15th and is filled with Christmas cheer and stars. This musical moment delighted fans.
This hour-long special, hosted by Zane Lowe, takes viewers on the adventures of Carol, who became a global sensation. The trailer depicts a festive road trip in which Lowe chauffeurs celebrity passengers from Tokyo to Missouri to Los Angeles. Along the way, the trio shares candid conversations, heartwarming moments, and lively renditions of holiday classics and chart-topping hits.
Lady Gaga, who recently dominated the Billboard charts with her global hit song “Die With a Smile,” reprized her 2008 single “Christmas Tree.” Gaga, who is known for her cheeky lyrics, said it was her idea to have her family sing while winking. The journey concludes with Gaga and Lowe, along with her band, performing a spirited rendition of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.” This performance is currently available as a standalone audio track.
Dua Lipa brings her signature energy to the Tokyo performance adventure, performing a karaoke version of the Ronettes’ “Sleigh Ride” along with her own megahit “New Rules.” Ripa also reflects on her rise to fame, telling how a Katy Perry concert inspired her to pursue a career on the world’s biggest stages.
Chapel Lawn’s special programs are both entertaining and heartfelt. Taking Roan on a tour of her family’s farm in Missouri, Roan introduces her to a chicken named after Lady Gaga, then joins her parents for a “Pink Pony Club” singalong and Wham. ! is leaving to perform the song. The classic “Last Christmas”. An emotional moment surfaces as Roanne’s parents share their pride in her artistry and message of inclusivity, calling her a beacon of love and acceptance.
“Just hearing her sing right now brings tears to my eyes,” says Roanne’s mother, Carla. “We love her so much and we’re so proud of what she’s doing and who she is and what she stands for. I love her on her show. I love singing along to this song, and I love seeing people react so much to it, and even as an adult, I’m still very concerned about what my parents think of me. I care.”
The festive version of Carpool Karaoke continues the series’ tradition of bringing big star power and holiday spirit, with Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa and Chapel Roan making the special a must-see event. Carpool Karaoke Christmas is now available to stream exclusively on Apple TV+.
