Rio Dayon Og Releases New Song After Being Released From

Rio Da Yong OG has released his first new song since being released from prison this week. “Rio Free” arrived with a video that showed the Flint, Michigan rapper enjoying his first day of freedom, hopping on a private jet and playing with his kids. Scroll down to see it now.

According to Pitchfork, Rio will serve three years of his five-year sentence, then serve his sentence in “community confinement.” He agreed to plead guilty to possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and began serving his sentence in 2021. His expected release date from custody is Saturday, July 12, 2025, followed by 18 months of supervised release.

Prison hasn’t stopped Rio from releasing new music, with projects like Fiend Lives Matter, The F Tape, and Rio Circa 2020 all released in recent years. He plans to celebrate his release on January 11 with a homecoming concert at the Masonic Temple in Detroit.
